Learn to Swim

Personal swimming lessons for children, adult beginners and nervous swimmers in Singapore.

Start from where you are

You don’t need to know how to swim before your first lesson. I’ll help you become comfortable in the water, then build breathing, balance and swimming skills at a pace that suits you.

Children and adult beginners follow the same Sea Lion L1–L6 Learn-to-Swim pathway. The teaching, support and pace are adapted to each swimmer.

Your Learn-to-Swim Journey

Progress is based on skills, not just the number of lessons completed.

  1. L1 — Water Confidence

Get comfortable entering the pool and being in the water. Practise putting your face in, blowing bubbles, supported floats and returning to standing.

  2. L2 — Balance & Safety

Build independent front and back floats, glides and a calm roll between positions. Practise moving towards the wall and recovering safely.

  3. L3 — Movement & Breathing

Bring a streamlined body position and flutter kick together with breathing while moving. Develop short, independent swims on your front and back.

  4. L4 — Stroke Foundation

Develop recognisable freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke foundations. Add treading water and deep-water confidence where the venue allows.

  5. L5 — Technique & Endurance

Extend freestyle and backstroke swims, develop breaststroke and practise pacing. Keep technique steady as you tire, with survival or elementary backstroke too.

  6. L6 — Independent Swimmer

Build controlled longer swims across freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke, with treading and independent pace and recovery management. Appropriate supervision still applies.
